There were several old capitals in the area that today is known as Cairo, which laid the foundation for the city to come. After Cairo was established in the tenth century A. D., additional influences from all parts of the world (as it was known at that time) helped shape the city you see today. The city has many areas that reflect this history and influence. Perhaps one of the most interesting sections is Medieval Cairo. Start driving from Alexandria port towards Cairo about 3 hours driving through the flat desert landscape to Africa’s largest city, Cairo. Upon arrival . Your first stop will be at the Citadel of Saladin, where panoramic views of the city of Cairo can be seen. Here you will also visit the spectacular Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the founder of modern Egypt. You will then drive into the city center and visit the Sultan Hassan mosque. It is one of the masterpieces of Mamluk architecture. The facade is almost 250 feet long and more than 115 feet high. After the visit, you will proceed to Old Cairo. This area of town is made up of the remnants of those cities which were capitals before Cairo, as well as some other elements from the city’s varied history. You will tour the Coptic Cairo section which includes the Babylon Fortress, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George and many other historical sites. It is believed that the Holy Family visited this area and the section was a stronghold for Christianity until the Islamic era. You will also visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue. According to local tradition, the Nile once flowed over the land the synagogue sits on, and there, in the reeds, baby Moses was found

Cancellation:

Cancellation should be received by fax or email 7 days before the tour date

For the one-day tour :

• The prices given are per person
• Once your tour is confirmed we guarantee the price will not be changed.
• Tour price currency is set to USD but you can pay in Euro or British pounds.

For the overnight tours

• The prices given are per person, the ‘twin/double’ prices per person apply when there are 2 people traveling, and sharing a room.
• ‘Single supplement’ applies to a single traveler, who requires his own room.
• Kindly note that the tour prices are varying from season to season. For the hotel bookings

How to confirm a tour:

For confirmation, we need the names of your group & a copy of your passports to confirm the tour, arrival, and departure dates.

All our tours are private, the vehicles and the tour guide are working only with you and your group, you are free to add or remove any item and match it with your own arrival & departure dates, And accordingly, if there are any changes will accrue in the tour price our guest will be informed with before the tour confirmation

Entry Visa info:

The Egyptian entry visa is obtainable onboard the cruise before your pick-up, which is operated by the Egyptian Immigration Association. It would be just a stamp put into your passport.

Cruise Ship returns 

If you are not returned to the ship in time to board, we will cover the necessary expenses to transport you to the next port of call

Hotel Rating in Egypt:

Kindly note that the hotel rating in Egypt is not the same as in USA or Europe, so 5* hotels are always recommended. The 3* & 4 * hotels aren’t recommended as we receive complaints from our guests about them.

Overnight Sleeping Trains:

We don’t recommend it, it takes 15 to 18 hours on a very crowded train. The toilets are not clean enough and smelly. Food is not good in general. The beds are not that comfortable. Comment from a client: “However, I am 6’0″ (183 cm) tall and barely fit into the bed — anyone taller would have to curl up.”

We recommend upgrading your reservation to a domestic flight.

Additional Entry Tickets

All tours don’t include entrance fees to some special archaeological sites such as visiting inside one of the pyramids to see the deep burial chambers, the Mummies Room at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, or entering the Tomb of Tutankhamen at Valley of the Kings in Luxor ….etc are also available at extra cost.

Alexandria library:

Note: Alexandria Library is closed on every public holiday. Entering the reading area will need an extra ticket cost.

Hot air Balloon :

Early morning pick from your hotel in Luxor to the west bank. Some refreshments (tea, coffee, cake, and sweets) will be served before you start your balloon ride in the skies of Egypt’s biggest open-air museum, Luxor. The “balloon ride” trip departs every day, however, confirmation in advance is still highly recommended. The balloon ride takes 45 minutes, before your land again, to catch your pick-up and return to your hotel.

Luxor Museum :

One of the best displays of antiquities in Egypt is located at the Luxor Museum opened in 1975. Housed within a modern building, the collection is limited in the number of items, but they are beautifully displayed.
